Join Today's Parent "Return to Sender" CampaignI am sick and tired of Today's Parent. Look at the ads which were in their Pregnancy and Birth issue for fall 2003. Included was a little booklet called Baby Guide. If you have any connection with an institution which orders this magazine, please do what you can to stop orders and have them let Today's Parent know why. If that's not possible (I can't stop them ordering them at St. Michael's Hospital), then tear out the coupons and throw them in the mail without filling them in. Then throw the magazines in the recycling.

Let Mr. Rogers know that his publications targeting pregnant women and new mothers are in gross violation of the World Health Organization's International Code of Marketing of Breast-Milk Substitutes, which the Government of Canada has endorsed. The International Code is designed to protect breastfeeding and to ensure that parents receive independent information about infant feeding without commercial pressures to formula feed. Violations coercing mothers to formula feed puts he health of Canadian infants and young child at risk. The International Code requires Roger's Communications Inc to abide by its provisions. These include:

Rogers Communications, as a leading multimedia corporation, has a huge capacity to do so much good for the benefit of Canadian babies, children, mothers and parents. We look to you to provide such leadership by removing the offending advertisements.

Pass it on!!
