Public Opinion on Homosexuality and the Workplace

A Canada-wide survey by Leger Marketing on behalf of Gai Ecoute, a telephone crisis and information service in Quebec, and Fondation Emergence, a gay and lesbian advocacy group, reveals that 60 % of Canadians believe that being gay or lesbian is a deterrent to career success and that 28 % have observed hostility towards gays or lesbians in the workplace. The survey was commissioned to coincide with the National Day against Homophobia on May 17th.
